Hey Scholars
I hope you are all using some self care as the semester winds down! We only have two classes left!! And one is a party...woohoo!
Reminder to get me your letters of rec. before the last class.
Today, please tell one or two of your classmates something they did this past year that has had an impact on you. Keep it positive, of course!

ReplyDeleteI like everybody in our group. everyone have a different personality. it is like different flowers with different smells, and color in the garden. strong personality that I see from everyone that impact me. Also, how they are fighting and keep going with a lot of difficulties that they have in their life.
ReplyDeleteI will miss you Noora :)
DeleteI liked everyone in our group. Every single one of us has a different personality. Every time someone is absent the "vibe" in the room changes. I appreciate the energy that everyone brought to the class room. I think something that makes price so unique is the opportunity to connect with other scholars on multiple levels. We are far from superficial and I appreciate everyone being transparent and sharing their stories. I really admire those individuals who cross everyday just to go to school and work. I admire those who care for their families all while trying to maintain a strong academic standing.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys for being who you are <3
Carlos you really helped me out by giving me rides to and from our Friday meetings. You also inspire me by how successful you are with your family business.
ReplyDeleteJoyce thank you very much for sharing your calculus notes and tests. I don't know if I could have made it this semester without them.
Thank you very much nelson for everything you have showed and told me Nelson , thanks for the friendship bro
DeleteA big thanks to Lizbeth for organizing the events at Saint Vincent's church. Everybody that went those days, that was a nice experience and glad to have been there to help others. I can say that everyone's compassion presentations and career informational interviews have impacted me since these presentations taught me a lot. I realized that many of our parents have similarities in their struggles and our success today proves that they succeeded for us.
ReplyDeleteThank you for going and taking your time to provide rides as well!
DeleteI appreciate everyone who went to the St. Vincent's with me. Also, I appreciate Desiree's help when we were doing the honors assignments. I'm glad we were able to work together and actually talk about other things to get to know each other.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate everyone in class but the one person that has had the most impact this year is Itzel. She helped me with rides to my house or the YMCA. She gave me advices on how to handle my problems and even shared her problems with me. I feel we built some sort of trust with each other and that is something I am really thankful for. Itzel also helped me find my outfit for the interview week. She took time out of her day to help me shop for an outfit and took me home afterwards. Itzel never asked for anything back, she only did it to help. She has a great heart and I believe she is someone we all have to look up to in some sort of way.
ReplyDeleteI appreciated everyone this year there are too many people to name but many have made an impact this year to me by either listening to me and my problems and by not judging me.

She's also very kind and friendly person with a motivation to strive for success. I admire all the hard work she does as well as have fun along the way. I would also like to thank Abraham for always being there for me. Always reminding me of when assignments are due for our other class. DeleteThe two people that did this past year that has had an impact on me are Nang and Nelson.
ReplyDeleteFor example, Nang is not only a very best friend of mine, but she's like my second sister. She always believe and see the potential in me that I can be success in college. I have known her for many years, and she's very cheerful, kind, and friendly person. Also, she usually helps me out by giving me rides. ReplyDeleteEveryone was really cool, definitely going to miss this cohort. Alot of personalities in class, but we got through it. Shout-out to eveyone for being great and talented. Eveyone thanks for expressing your feelings and sharing your stories, I know its hard. Love ya'll
ReplyDeleteTheres many people that took a postive vibe my way , and you know you who you are, Larissa for all the mini dates at the Samrt Cafe, for giving me your lunch. Yasina for your $10 so I could get my transcripts sent to Hawai'i, thank-you. Dulce, for always being funny talking about preston. Abraham, for requesting an Uber evey friday for us all the way to Sn Ysidro. And JOSE, for all the advice you gave me through Snapchat! AYYYYYE, Mia Khalifa, love you J!
Lol omg you are welcome, Preston is a good friend of us. I miss the geology class we were good friends. plus the professor was nice.
DeleteI'd like to thank Abraham and Maggie for everything this semester. They were originally my mentees, and they both came to my life and I have learned more from the both of them than I have learned academically in any of my classes. They were always there for me when I needed someone to talk, or just someone to hang out and get sushi with. Maggie showed me that sometimes the best way to deal with things is to actually go with them and do them, even if you don't feel like doing them, but that once you look back, you'll be glad you did them. Abraham showed me, amongst many things, that there are far too many things going your way all throughout your life, especially when there are people who support you around you all the time, and that these are the people that will be there in the good, the bad, the ugly, the smiles, the laughs, and the funny, and that life's a rollercoaster worth getting dizzy for, especially with those who make you smile :)
ReplyDelete..Great post! We adore this blog. Thanks for sharing.
