  1. After reviewing the tools I realized that I should do BPR in order to comprehend lectures before attending class. Usually I just attend the class without prior knowledge of what we will do. I usually engage in class, so I thought it wouldn't be necessary to attend office hours. However, after two weeks I tend to forget about the class lectures even though I take notes. Therefore, I will go over the notes and attend office hours in order to prepare before tests or when I don't understand the lectures.

  2. Seeing the tools that I can use to be more successful made me realize that attending class and turning in the work is only some part of being a college student. The tool that I believe will work better for me is the BPR. It is the one that I would actually do on my free time and seems like something that won't help only me but anyone that tries it. It is a skill that guarantees me success and will not be a waste of time.

  4. Out of the tools listed, BPR does seem very important and useful. I am used to outlining out of the text if it's assigned, but I am going to outline more to extend my understanding of the material. Lectures in my classes so far lack many examples and key terms that are in the book, so with using BPR, things will go much easier. From the mesa tips, online resources will most likely benefit me, like videos and tutorials. Also looking at the big picture strategy will help since it will guide me into only writing and using important information.

  5. I think a very important tool that I will be using for school is being a creator and not a victim. Being a creator means being proactive, getting things done early, speaking up, and going the extra mile in order to succeed. If I can be a creator then I can go on and use other tools. For example BPR that will help me even more.

  6. All kinds of help and tricks that we can get are necessary for us to be succesfull in school. College is not just about attentinding, it also requires hard work. BPR will be the tool that I will be trying out because it is simple and makes sense. Many of these tools may seem like a a lot at first but after practicing them many times they will become a very usefull habit.

  7. Hello Scholars,

I think this method of learning is important because it details the main topics about your studies. BPR( Bullet Point Reading) has helped me to highlight the main topics and not distract myself upon small, unimportant details that my textbook, or professor says during lecture. This tool can operate our minds to remember topics other than subtopics that seem to be useful in temperance throughout exams and quizzes. I believe that being a creator is being confidence in the work you put in to being a leader because not one lazy can provide this role of becoming a great leader and creator towards achieving greatness of not submissive him/herself as a victim.

Personally, I used to think and laugh at the detective usage of deceiptition towards BPR, but after talking to Ralph and Dulce , they made me realize that we college students must find a path other than follow. Creat oring new paths can lead us to good things and new inventions to help out next generation of students.

    Have a wonderful day!

  8. I didn't know much about these study tools until now, but I'd say that BPR is the most convincing. There are many more methods out there however, the point is you have to clearly understand what you're learning. Apply any study method you feel comfortable with so that you can remember everything from class. You can't expect to get through college without understanding the material. Being able to clearly understand the material also makes homework assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests more easier.

  9. I believe BPR is one of the best tools when you're in school. It helps a lot when you're in college because you need to review A LOT especially if you have several classes that are difficult. The most useful thing I would say is making an outline and reviewing your notes after class so you won't forget what you wrote down. You're outline shouldn't be your ordinary outline, you should be able to see the big picture by just highlighting some key points. I think I will be concentrating more on this since it should be the first thing you do when doing your BPR.

  10. The way I will be using BPR on my own is by reviewing the outlines that are already provided and go through the chapter in the book. Not all professors are kind enough to do outlines, especially when they cover a lot of information. Most teachers would say you need to be in class in order to get the information and I will not review anything with you, they will most likely say to get the notes from your classmates. There are already bullet points on the outlines provided but the thing is that there is actually more information missing, the outline is already BPR. So what I have been doing is looking the bullet points from the outlines in the book that we use for class. Also the professor points out certain things that will be on the test and I make sure I highlight that part and pretty much is the only thing I really need to take notes on. Something I do too Is draw a picture to visualize something. A little sketch on the side that I will understand since I am a kinetic and visual learner. I always compare things to memorize something and helps me study the material better. Symbols are a big part of how I learn personally.

  11. I think BPR is a good method to use, specially if you are taking a lot of notes in your class and you need to study for a test. The way I use BPR is by doing an outline of the key point that were covered in class and the ones I found. For me the key is to highlight important and relative information only. This will make studying more easy, and I will be able to understand and find the information faster.

  12. I think that BPR is defiantly the best way to succeed in college, we need to be organized with our work and in order to accomplish that we need to have some type of planner/organizer even a folder well organize that would help us a lot in note taking and or homework doing, and by that we would become a better readers, writer's and listeners by just being organized, who would of knowed. before having test we need to review the material learned/taught in the classroom that is a good way to pass your test. showing BPR in ur classes demonstrates that your taking your education serious and education is the key to success. But u don't nessaraley need or have to apply BPR skills at school but you can apply them even outside of school.

  14. I didn't know much about these tools, BPR I only knew about through Dulce. I see everybody in the thread saying that they'll use it, seems very helpful, etc. I'm not sure what it is that is confusing me while I read the pamphlet. It suddenly seems difficult to me. So if anybody can help me understand it better that would be wonderful. It's cool that MESA has a youtube channel, I'll be checking out some of their videos. The strategies will be very helpful. They'll help me be a better creator.

  15. After reviewing the BPR tools, I realized that being organizing and not procrastinating are very important to be successful in college. This method of learning is very helpful especially when I'm studying, I need to understand the context and more information in class. Also, I will use this tools that could help me tremendously to improve my study skills and to prepare me well on my next exams.

  17. When I first started using BPR, I hated it. I felt like it was a little too structured. However, upon further use of BPR, I began to really like it.BPR is great for memorization and compliments the way your brain actually processes information. BPR allows me to study information in groups which in turn allows me to memorize and understand more.

  18. think BPR it the best way to suceed in collage being well organized with having a planner or having folder well organize help alot note taking has help me to become a btter reader and listener. from my experience it was very hard in the first and I thought maybe it is west the time to be very organize but after that I used to it and learn how be more fast and creative.

  19. HOLY COW. I meant to do this one earlier on (I'm sure I typed it at one point, but I guess it didn't get published). I remember through the semester I implemented the BPR on my calculus homework and notes, along with my philosophy work. Other than that, I've noticed that I work REALLY well under pressure, as long as it is a quiet place where I can concentrate without little kids distracting me. Another thing I've come to realize over the semester that works best is when I have an outline of what I'm going to study/write for the day. I could spend HOURS without an outline trying to find my words but not do anything, whereas I will finish the same assignment in minutes as long as I have my outline next to me.
